If you have a problem using your serial number with VueScan:
The serial number is stored in /Users/Shared/.vuescanrc If you try all this and your serial number still doesn't work, please send an e-mail containing the non-working serial number and customer number and the e-mail address you used when you first purchased VueScan. - Make sure you're using an Administrator account
- Run VueScan (and use 'Help | About' if three boxes not displayed)
- Enter the info from the receipt into the three boxes
- See if OK appears in all three boxes
- Press Close
- Do a preview
- Use the 'Help | About' command ('VueScan | About' on Mac OS X)
- Verify that all three boxes contain the word 'OK'
If step 4 fails, try copying the info from the invoice to the clipboard and pasting it into the three boxes.
If you're using Windows, you should make sure that your registration database isn't corrupted. You can do this by running regedit.exe in the Windows directory. If it reports an error, then contact Microsoft about how to get this repaired. If you're installing on Windows 10, 8, 7 or Vista, make sure you're using the Administrator account.
If you're using Mac OS X, make sure that you're using an Administrator account when you enter the serial number. The serial number is stored in /Users/Shared/.vuescanrc
